Take a stroll down memory lane

but when I was growing up our grater had on it stamped into the metal: “Grater Rape”. That always confused and bothered me and I wondered why they would put such a thing on the grater…

I have since found out that rape is the French word for grater, and we being a half hour from Canada were in the area where they’d market in French as well as English.

Very confusing for a young girl though, I must say. I would never have dared ask my mother about it.

driving around with their friends and backfiring the car/van/truck on purpose just to scare people? For those who don’t, if you turn the ignition on/off real fast while driving in cars with catalytic converters, they make an extremely loud bang that makes people on the street jump out of their skin if they’re not expecting it…..

I remember doing this with my cousin L in grandma’s car (she would not have been happy had she known)......he scared an old man so badly that he jumped and then grabbed his chest….oh dang…we stopped for a second not to help but to stare like a bunch of idiots, but then he started yelling at us and shaking his fist so we took off real fast….

I’m not bragging…not promoting this kind of awful behavior no matter how hilarious it can be…..just something I did on more than a few occasions.
