Make Progress on House Projects

OK – so the front yard is great, this is the year for the backyard. We’ve got a son now too so it’s got to be child-friendly. I’d like to do a raised bed garden as well.

Well, the biggest project we had was our front yard. We went overseas in August and knew that when we came back we had to get it done. Not something that we were looking forward to. Anyway, we arrived back to find that several of our friends had “while You Were Out” style – completely landscaped our front yard in a very “us” style – rocks, cactus, seating, lights – it is amazing! So now, when spring arrives we will look at sorting out the backyard.

Well, we replaced the sliding shower door and put in a shower curtain – I love it – so much brighter and cleaner and more pleasant. We are also in the process of getting everything to the dump today! Hurrah. We have a plan in our heads for the yard – and I have a landscape designer friend coming by Wednesday to have a look.

• Come up with a plan for the bare patch of dandelion infested dirt that is our front yard.
• Execute plan for front yard.
• Take out the shower sliding door and hang a shower curtain in the master bath.
• Fix or get a new garbage disposal.
• Take all the rubbish in the yard to the dump including all the carpet we tore out lasst summer!
• Develop a plan for the back yard – giant chess set? trampoline? enlarge the patio?
• Finish putting the molding around the walls where we didn’t finish it last year!
