grow a bonsai tree

so kuel to watch my lil tree grow, its got heaps of new leaves, and is looking really great. Now next step will be to learn how and when to prune it

I just love bonsai trees, and have always wanted one, but it had to be a special one…i have recently come up with a grand plan….

When i was really little, about 3or 4 i think, i planted a pohutakawa tree (more commonly known as New Zealand Christmas tree, as it comes out in the most beautiful crimson flowers at christmas time). im 27, it is a great big tree now, and my dad still lives in the same house.

Anyway, recently i discovered that pohutakawa trees make fantastic bonsai trees, so im going to get a couple of little sucker trees from the bottom of my dad’s tree, and make them into bonsais – one for me, and one for my friend who also wants a special bonsai tree.

I’m going to visit my dad on the 24th so will get my trees then – cant wait!
