I wanted to truly understand God’s word for myself, so I studied the Bible in earnest. I could not reconcile the cruelties, inconsistencies, and outright factual errors that I read. My pastor had always skipped over those parts, or used apologetics to explain them away.
The more I read about religion in general, the more it became obvious that all religions are manmade constructs, and there is no evidence for any god(s).
This has made me a much happier and more ethical person than I ever was as a Christian. I am now a Secular Humanist, and love life!
