Top of the to-do list 2 years ago

Well it’s been a while since I’ve been back to 43 things and now I’m starting to see advatages of this cyber to-do list. I really only logged on to make a post about a different goal but the list prompted me to take action on this one.

The problem is that when I’m feeling okay I get really lax about doctors appointments and stuff. I guess it’s mostly denial and my increasing dislike of hospitals. But I know I should chase up doctors and I probably wouldn’t have bothered if I hadn’t seen this goal right there at the top of my list.

So thank you to 43 things!

What the bloody hell is antiphospholipids? And why am I being tested for it?

Yesterday some blood sample paperwork came in the post with a note on a compliments slip telling me to get a blood test. No explaination or indication of why, after I was yet again told it was a virus and it’ll sort itself out, I’m being sent for more tests.

What a wonderful way to keep stress levels down! Unfortunately there is that fountain of knowledge called the internet. I say unfortunately because during the last round of appointments and tests I got all freaked out about Lupus. I should have learned my lesson but it seems I’m a glutton for punishment.

Well, I don’t see how it really relates to me. It seems to be all to do with blood clotting and miscarriages with only a passing reference to arthritus. Can’t help thinking we’ve reached the clutching at straws stage.

I will not eat until I burst, drink so much I get a hangover or eat more than three chocolates in a row.

NaNoWriMo is playing havock with my sleeping patterns. Hopefully a return to normal in December.

Except for exhausting myself on a Christmas shopping (I know it’s early but I’m trying to be organised) expedition, I’m actually feeling well enough to forget to take my painkillers. This is good because despite the fact my referal is in the holidays I would hate to be ill over Christmas.

Got my NHS referral for 28th December (which I had actually had taken as a holiday anyway, wierd.)



Gym 3 years ago

Went to the gym last Sunday morning and it’s taken me a week to recover. Annoyed because I felt okay at the time but by the afternoon could not move my hands. Still think I’m on the feeling better side of my flare up though so will try again tomorrow.

Cashews – yuk
Brasil nuts – only if i’m hungry
Pistachios – yummy
Almonds – nice
Penuts – yuk
Pine nuts – okay
Chestnuts – yuk, look like brains
Walnuts – only in cakes (which does sort of defeat the object)
Pecans – yummy

After my little blip of feeling sorry for myself I’m a bit more positive today. At least that’s the idea.

But I was wandering around the supermarket trying to find something for my lunch that was packed with sugar, salt or nasty ingredients that I can’t pronounce and I drew a complete blank.

They didn’t even have any bottles of still water left on the lunch counter.

I think I’m going to have to get a bit more organise if I’m to reach this goal.
