Compassion is a profound human emotion prompted by the pain of others. —Wikipedia
Pain needn’t be only physical; it can be mental, emotional, financial, etc. Also “others” does not have to refer only to humans; one can feel compassion for animals as well. I believe the world’s biggest problems cause the most pain of all types (http://WorldsBiggestProblems.com ). Even worse are the misperceptions and deliberate mistruths about these percieved problems. Here is the list:- Economic Collapse – Zimbabwe is a peek into the future of the United States when all our little green George Washingtons come home to roost. - Peak Oil – Peak oil is a scam designed to create artificial scarcity and jack up prices while giving the state an excuse to invade our lives (http://www.prisonplanet.com/archives/peak_oil/index.htm ).
- Water Crisis – The water crisis is caused by the government (http://mises.org/story/1557 ).
- Species Extinction – The government causes species to become endangered (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoot,_shovel,_and_shut_up ).
- Climate Change – This is one of the world’s biggest problems because we’re being lied to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc7wh0hV5tk
What can one man do to allieviate any of these problems? The two major parties benefit from the status quo and will do nothing. As my small part, I will donate what I can to the Libertarian Party (http://www.lp.org/)
