Ready, set, go! 2 years ago

I recently bought a pair just-a-little-too-tight designer jeans. I can wear them the way they are now but they would look better and be more comfortable if I lose 5 lbs… so I’ve decided to use this a way to kick start my workout habit (which has dwindled patheticaly at 1 or 2x/wk all year). I successfuly worked out 5x last week and am quite sore. My goal is to do 5x next week and 4x the week after… at the end of which I have an assessment (run a mile, weight, bmi, flexibility, crunches and push ups test). After that is my road trip to WA so then the problem will be making sure I work out when I get back.



It's just a matter of making it a habit 2 years ago

Twice in my life I’ve worked out on my own (i.e. not when I was on a sports team) consistently. Both for 3 months. Then came college (the first time) and the divorce (the second time). So now it’s time to get back in the habit… since August I’ve only worked out a few weeks a month and rarely more then twice. I’d like to be in the habit of working out 4-5 days a week. Cardio and tougher workouts Monday – Thursday and something like pilates on the weekend. 30-60 min of cardio, lots of stretching and some toning. I’ll consider this goal accomplished once I’ve worked out regularly for 1 month. By then it should be a habit – although I’d personally like to see myself keep this habit for the rest of my life (or at least 6 months since I’ve never done more then 3!)
