I’ve now cleared my 3 expensive credit cards and actually suceeding in getting one of the little monkeys closed down completely. Horrah!
I have about £3000 of credit card debt to pay off, a £2000 overdraft and a £12,000 student loan. I’m not really even thinking about the student loan, so really isn’t only £5000 left. Phew. Getting there!

With a combination of balance transferring and sheer bloody determination, I’ve cleared another two of my cards. Now both my store cards are paid off and two of my credit cards are clear :)
Two more to go, plus the overdraft and I’m home free :)

Today I balance transferred a sizeable chunk from one highinterest credit card to a new, interest free for 9 months card. phew. technically this should enable me to pay off my debts a little quicker because i’m not going to be paying so much interest every month. Which will be nice.

today i got a tax rebate of £80, which was nice, and which will go towards paying off one of my credit cards :)
One day, when it’s not so scary and daunting, I will actually sit down and properly work out how much I owe and how long it will take me to pay it back. I tell people it’s around 18k but I really think this is just a ball park figure so I really need to stop being a child and just face up to my failures, head on.

I cut up my credit cards a while ago and I guess that’s a good start. The trouble with wanting to clear your debt is that when it is so large it’s very easy to become disparaged with it very quickly.
It’s never fun to throw large sums of money back to companies that selfishly and irresponsibly lent you it in the first place.
It’s never fun to realise that all the fun you had with your then new found wealth has to be paid back, and that it comes at a much higher price than you previously realised.
