It’s the end of term again and I’m glad to see them grow physically and also academically. Some are inspired and some are not, but it’s better to let them keep their own personalities instead of becoming my ideal student model.
Hope to see them next year.

All of them have received gifts from me before their holidays begin. I’m very happy to be their Santa Claus and finding gifts for them, especially it’s based on their performance in the first term. I hope they won’t stop their effort and can try their best in 2nd term.

Just had a chance to chat with my students and found that they dislike my colleague very much.
In my opinion she’s a fine teacher but indeed from the students’ perspective, she’s the object of hatred, and that sounds really bad.
It doesn’t mean that teachers should please students by all means, but then, it again shows that we do not have an easy life and gotto face criticism with an open heart.

Should teachers dress professionally? In that sense, must we wear make-up and suits everyday?
I’ve tried to do a survey among my students and most of them believe that image is less important than the teaching skill. Honestly I’m glad that that they value substance rather than outer beauty of a teacher. But the common perception also reflects how the society evolves and how they demand edcuators?
How to define good teacher?

It’s easy to fall into the comfort zone in my job. In order to keep going and pursue higher goals, I decide to leave and hope to learn some new knowledge and inspiratoins from a new non-comfort zone.

lately some of my students have intimidated me with stupid tricks and makes me so angry.
Well, perhaps it’s too demanding to expect them to do well academically, but I really can’t accept them to behave like a bad person!
It’s rather sad to see them turning bad in that direction.

There are so many things that can help you to become a good teacher or, stop you from being a good teacher.
Heart, devotion and energy is necessary, but also the strong mind to work against the negative forces everywhere, plus the uncertainty of your job future.
so many questions in my mind and it’s sometimes very frustrated.

You never know how they view, judge, comment you.
But when you’ve left, and they still remember you, it’s the greatest motive that keep you moving.
It can also apply to other jobs as well, but in teaching, it’s mainly the students.
i know, when one day I leave this field, I can still keep the title ‘miss’.

Just left my favourite students at CJYS. How I wish I could stay and teach until they graduate and enter secondary schools. Though I can’t do it, I will keep in touch with them. And it’s quite convenient to see and visit them. I hope we can keep in contact.
