Book 6 - Common Sense by Glenn Beck

This book had some interesting ideas/thoughts. It’s very short and easy to read.

Book 5 - The Imperial Cruise

I read this book because I like the author, James Bradley. He also wrote ‘Flag of our Fathers’ and ‘Flyboys’; both of which I enjoyed more than this book. But this book was quite good. It’s set in 1905 and deals with a diplomatic cruise that Teddy Roosevelt dispatched to Asia. It was led by future president Taft. I’d recommend this book, especially to readers of non-fiction history.

Book 4: 1776 by David McCullough

I thought this was a great book about the American Revolution. The only disappointment is the it should of had more and better maps of the battle fields. But it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.

3. The Broker

By John Grisham
A good book about a lawyer that is being set-up to be assassinated. If you are a fan of Grisham, he will not disappoint.

Book 2 is "C is for Corpse" by Sue Grafton.

A good, but not great, book but somewhat enjoyable.

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

I just finished this book and I thought it was a great read. Almost as good as The Da Vinci Code. One book down; twelve to go.

Here's a list of books I plan on reading in 2010

1776
C is for Corpse
Clemente
Hard Call
Imperial Cruise
John Adams
Maestro
The Broker
The Lost Symbol
To the Last Man
Sitting Bull
When Pride Still Mattered

Dan Rooney: My 75 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL

I’m a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and I liked this book. Very insightful with regard to the NFL’s inner-workings.

Book 2 finished

Dow 36,000 by James Glassman & Kevin Hassett
The authors believe that the fair market value of the Dow is 36,000. This book was written in 1999 when the Dow was around 9000. The Dow is currently at 7200 so the authors were way off in their predictions. But the book does have some interesting ideas. I’d give it a 2 out of 5 stars.

Book 1 finished

The Longest Winter by Alex Kershaw
This book was about the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. It focuses on one particular platoon. I’d recommend this book (especially anyone interested in WWII). I’d give it 3 stars out of 5.
