You know, working a more ‘regular’ job is helping me with this goal. I am getting up earlier, at least by 7, but I really need to get up at 630, if I want to prepare my own lunch. And if I was to be really really good, I should get up about 6 and take a walk before work. slowly slowly. The hardest thing is going to bed early!

well, this kinda got disrupted by my big move and all the stuff that comes along with moving country, changing job and schedule…
but.. heres the current aim – get up everyday around 8 or 830.
I can do it if i get to sleep around midnight. the difficult part is its winter here and you kinda want to sleep in. and I’ve been sick and needing more sleep…
so, thats my aim for the next few weeks, get my sleeping schedule in order! huzzah!
Well, since I finised my shift work job things have greatly improved.
On Monday I got up at 9am, had a lot of difficulty falling alseep that night, but the next day I was up at 8am. Again I had difficulty going to sleep, but the next day I had to be up at 6am, so last night (wed nite) I feel alseep soon after turning my light out. Thats probably the first time I’ve fallen asleep before 1030 pm for months!
and today I woke around 620, but didn’t get up til 7am. I plan on making 7 am my usual wake up time, so lets see how well this goes over the next 2 weeks
my gosh, I got a real shock today. I woke up at 1130… WTF? I thought it was about 830 and I was just waiting for my alarm to go off. must have been tired….
Well, that website that was linked to me by strangeways has had some really really great strategies. Unfortunately, even though its only been about 4 or 5 days, it seems that I am going to have great difficultly implementing them.
for example. today. alarm went off, woke me, I rolled over, hit it and went back to sleep.
that is not my usual reaction to alarms. seriously. I think its a testiment to how exhausted I am. hopefully on my days off this week I can catch up or something. that is if Im not working. this job is killing me.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help with this??? Im almost at my wits end! I cant help but sleep in, its not good. :(
well, ive decided that my current strategy isnt working for me. and i have to admit, that this goal isnt achievable until i get off working shift work. but i have made some resolutions to improve things.
I’ve decided that on nights I do late shift I can get up the next day at 9. on days when i finish on a early shift, I have to get up the next day at 7 at the latest.

what to say about this goal…. well, I have been getting 8 hours of sleep on average lately. but I think this goal is more than just that. I suppose it’s a bit hard to define, but I dont want to be rushing to get ready. and yet I still do. and this is at its worst when I have something that I have to get to in the mornings. hmmmm. need to stop lazying around. maybe I should change this goal.
I’ve started to note down what time i get up everyday, just so that I can have some idea on how I can improve this.
And Im noticing that sleeping in is making me sleepier, so getting up on time is becomeing very important to me.
havent been sleeping in, despite the shift work. Actually I’m usually getting to bed before 12, so the latest I sleep in til is 8. or 9 if im tired. would like to make it seven though.
maybe I’ll keep a record of this…..
