Breaking up sucks... 9 months ago

A few months ago my boyfriend of several years left me. Over the course of my relationship with him, I had gained a lot of weight. We were both overweight and eating together just exacerbated things. Towards the end of our relationship, I weighed 160 pounds (and I am 5’2”). Since he left, I have lost 10 pounds and I hope that I continue this slowly and steadily until I am at a healthy weight again.

I am seeing someone new, but he is also a vegetarian, so hopefully we will encourage each other to stick with a better diet.



Starting small 14 months ago

I don’t have to be to work until 1PM tomorrow, so I’m going to try and take a nice long walk tomorrow morning. Not sure if I want to just walk from my apartment or drive to the park. Easier to just walk from my house, I suppose. Setting the alarm for 10 (hey, that’s early for me). Wish me luck.

I’ve had this on my list since I first got this account… yet I’ve really done nothing to contribute to accomplishing it. I don’t even have a goal weight or size I want to reach. I just want to be healthier. I wouldn’t mind weighing 120 pounds again, but I’d have to lose over 20 pounds to do that.

The worst part is that I now live in an apartment community where I can use a gym for free. I live in an area where I can take long walks safely. I’ve only used the gym twice the whole time I’ve been here. Need to get on that.

I have, however, been eating a lot more healthy, I think. Every time I grocery shop I buy fruit and fat free yogurt, it’s my favorite healthy snack lately. I just bought tofu for the first time, I’m really excited to try cooking with that. I’m going to have to start buying vegetables soon, I’ve never been a really big fan of veggies.
