see the northern lights

I was in Ft. William, Scotland last weekend, which is the most north I’ve ever been. I have heard that when one is north enough in Scotland, the Northern Lights can be seen. I researched it, and unfortunately it won’t be until 2012 when the solar wind reaches solar maximum. Something like that. So on 2012, lets have an end of the world party as far north as we can, like the North Pole!

I may end up going to work in Alaska during the summer. I don’t know exactly where, I think near Juneau. The only thing I hear is, that during the summer the sun is always out, and it doesn’t get dark enough to really see the northen lights. But maybe there will be a dark enough day. I hope so.
