I went to the Japanese Friendship Garden here in Phoenix Yesterday, and took about 80 shots.

For several of the shots, I used the “Rule of Thirds” to compose the shot, on a couple of the shots of water lilies and the shot of a guy taking a couple’s picture, especially. I like the results, but it’s something to get used to & practice, that’s for sure.

So I went to a dog show over the weekend. Took 580 pics. :D Unfortunately a lot of them were underexposed. I had the camera in shutter priority mode so I could just set the shutter at 1/800—the dogs move too fast to set it much slower! Unfortunately, that proved a little too fast for my lens. I think I’ll be able to adjust some of them in Photoshop, though. I just have to see which ones I want to keep!

I think the last one in the set is my favorite so far. The composition isn’t all that great, it’s a bit underexposed, and a little out of focus, but it shows the clock with the finish time (the dog is jumping through the last gate), and the girl that was running the dog—you can see the happiness on her face.
