A couple of years ago I took a one year course in Japanese here in Kyoto and did nothing but study it every day. These were some of the happiest and most fulfilling days of my life. Then my money ran out so I went back to work and my schedule went haywire and I stopped studying entirely. I want to get into the habit of studying it again. I want to master 3,000 kanji by the end of this year! I want to pass the 1st level Japanese proficiency test! I want to become a translator from Japanese to English. I think that would be deeply cool.
