travel

hawaii is so lush and fragrant. i loved the perfumed air, juicy colored flowers, and refreshing ocean water.

last week i spent the day in kugluktuk, a small community of copper inuit. the air was cool, no bugs, and the ocean a dark clear blue. climbing on the hill i found an inukshuk someone left behind. a can of pop $4.

for a long time, until the last month or so really, i’ve thought of travel only as far flung adventure. what i’m beginning to realize is that travel exists within us, and at home. “home” is a contentious notion for me because i feel that i have many homes, and none at all, which is all beside the point. right now, i’m taking this as an opportunity to travel and explore places in a new light, as a new person. that has got to be just as meaningful, and it is.
