...once we turned into “water creek” from the harbor the water calmed and i saw a golden eagle sitting along the bank. as we travelled along the creek two golden eagles flew above us, and a bald eagle flew right by, almost at eye level. i have never seen one so close. in total we saw six to eight eagles- all golden except the one bald.

this is not about bird watching, but it is about watching. two days ago at “the point,” which is where the ocean and harbour meet, i saw about ten beluga whales. they were feeding, playing, and looking like they were having a good time. what an amazing sight!
over the past two weeks i’ve seen an eagle at least five or six times on my way to work. i always see it on the same stretch of road.
i went out ice fishing today. it was incredibly beautiful. the sun was bright and warm- a nice change. on my snow mobile ride out there i saw a ptarmigan. i barely made it out since it was white against the snow. a little black on the tail if i remember correctly. odd looking bird. wasn’t scared, just kinda waddled away.
