get a masters degree

So it’s done. I submitted my thesis, defended it… everything. It took two years of hard study and lab work, plus blood, sweat and tears. It’s probably not the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done (because I probably wouldn’t want to do this again ever), but the immense sense of accomplishment is there, oh yes it is.

Working on my thesis… and brain shrinkage is getting to be serious. Presentation is at the end of June/beginning of July. Wish me luck!

I’m in a masters degree program right now… and it’s been awesome! :)

Believe it or not, this goal is still ON. In 8 days, I’m going to find out if I’m accepted to the programme.

And hugs for everyone, I know I haven’t been in here in ages because I’ve been doing things instead of just making lists. I’ve declared 2009 as the year that things get done… and that’s what I’m doing.

Urban Design?

Now we’re getting somewhere, finally. Off to look for a school that offers it.

I’ve been thinking about this the past couple of days and this would be something that I’d do next year or the year after that. As with all plans, it depends on how things turn out when life intervenes, but yup, this is back in the picture.

I’ll put this back in when I’ve decided what it is exactly that I want to study. I figured that I wanted a masters degree for the wrong reasons in the first place! (At least when I put this goal in.) Now that I’ve got that straight, I still want to study again, but I just need to figure out what.

So this can sit in the corner while I’m out and truly discovering what it is exactly that’s worth the time and money and effort of doing a masters degree on.

I’ve decided that I want to do my masters in a Spanish-speaking country. The info packet from Escuela TAI arrived today, and I’m on the Pompeu Fabra mailing list. I’m looking into other schools in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, and there’s (oddly) some outside help from Chile but no dice so far. And there’s the Interaction Design course in Ivrea… I will be in debt until I’m 40! I can feel it in my bones!

October 2006 is the target date (March 2006 if we do find anything in Chile), or I doubt I’ll ever get this done. This will be killing four birds with one stone: it will force me to become independent, improve my Spanish, live in a foreign country, and finally get my masters degree.
