My favourite so far. I didn’t manage to get pictures because they disappeared so quickly!
The lavender flavour came from infusing lavender flowers with milk overnight, then draining the milk and using it in the batter and frosting. I even bought a lavender plant especially for the occasion!
Must make these again.
These were really nice and something totally unique! Delicious fluffy vanilla cupcake with fresh chopped strawberries baked in the bottom, cream cheese frosting on top and a sprinkling of crushed digestive biscuits to create the effect of the cheesecake base, these cupcakes were really like a cupcake version of a cheesecake!
Still don’t quite top the lemon ones though, gosh they were good!
Mmmmmmmm these had so much lemon zest in them and they were soooooo delicious! Really tangy and citrusy and almost refreshing in a way.
Defs my fav recipe so far.
Mmmmmm these were so different and so tasty!
They had a nice tartness or tang to them and were so velvety and… well… red!
The cream cheese frosting was sooo good defs the best frosting so far!
(You have to look at this pic full screen it’s awesome!)
I made chocolate cupcakes a few days ago. They were outstanding! The cake was rich and chocolatey and the frosting was deliciously creamy.
The only problem was that the cupcakes sank a little when they got out the oven and peeled away from the patty cases.
4/5 Stars :)
I made the Hummingbird Bakery vanilla cupcakes and they were so good! It was probably the best vanilla cupcake recipe I’ve ever made. The cupcakes were deliciously light and fluffy, and not too sickeningly sweet. The frosting was even lighter and fluffier, with a texture almost like melted marshmallow.
5 stars out of 5!
(I recommend looking at the photo full screen it’s simply mouth watering!)
I’ve decided to cook my way through the Hummingbird bakery cookbook from start to finish. I’ll make the first thing this week.
