own my own home

not actually any closer to owning a house, but i recently moved out of my parent’s house in with my boyfriend. we are renting a 2×1 duplex in an eternally cool coastal suburb, and we are making it home for us.
part of this goal is to have a home of my own, not just to own the premises, but to really feel like this place is where i belong; my sanctuary. so moving out of my parent’s house is actually a step towards it.

i want my home to feel like home. i want to be able to hang a painting or paint the walls without having to ask ‘permission’. i want to come home at the end of a day and be able to completely relax because it’s my space, not someone else’s space that i’m borrowing.
