i’ve been wanting to get into the practice of meditating. i’m thinking of attending a meditation session at the shambhala center in my community. Hopefully this will get me on the right track. Besides, like yoga and tai chi, i think it becomes a different practice altogether when there is a group of people. the energy is more all-encompassing.

I wasn’t sure how I would come to accomplish this goal. I suppose it’s a matter of exploring… religions, philosophy, ideas in general… So, for fun, I took a test. These were the results for my top 5:
1. Liberal Quakers (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (97%)
3. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (93%)
4. Theravada Buddhism (81%)
5. Mahayana Buddhism (79%)
It provided a list of 27. #26 was Roman Catholic, the religion I grew up with. How peculiar… yet not entirely surprising. I am unfamiliar with a lot of the religions on the list, but hope to learn more, particularly about Buddhism.
