I spent a long time mulling over habit three, principles of personal management, putting first things first… spending more time on things that are important, but not necessarily urgent. Routine is always difficult to change, but I see how this habit is important, and I am working on it, slowly but surely.
I am also still working on my mission statement.
Although not yet solidified, I do have a basic sense and structure for both my routine and my values, so I will move on to the next chapter.

Charging through this book faster than I expected. I am finding it very interesting and thought-provoking, even if the ideas are not necessarily new. The basic things that have stuck so far: First, that I always have the power to choose my response. Second, that I need to center my life on correct principles, rather than outside sources. I have started to work on a mission statement. it’s somehow cleansing… the act of narrowing your thoughts and actions into one sentence that defines your very essence…

I generally read. I usually go for the more creative, inspirational reads. But I’ve heard raves about this one, and I really need the extra kick. So here on 43T I will very briefly summarize each habit as I tackle it. Then my hopefully-more-proactive-self can check this one off the list!
