NaPoWriMo has taught me a few things already. The most important are that I’m actually able to write a draft for a poem everyday, if I push myself to do it. And the realization that it’s enjoable and exciting, even though I’ve thought a few times “not again, not another poem…” Also, I realized that I’m able to adhere to a prompt – something I couldn’t imagine before. Sooo… I’m going to be more serious about trying to find opportunities for having my poetry published.
I’m sorting through the wikipedia list of German literary journals (A-K done) and already found a few magazines I can submit poetry to. One for young, unpublished authors sounds very, very, very promising (great concept, publisher and recognition) and I’ll strive to meet their literary standards. I’m not sure if I can (might have to practice for a few more years :D), but I guess it’s good to have a challenging goal.
Once NaPoWriMo is over, I’ll commit to writing more (and more elaborate) German poems and submit them.
