Well I hate to say it, but I’m giving up on this for this year. I just couldn’t get my story going. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to write 50k words – doesn’t seem like a lot until you start to trying to make those 50k words make sense and paint a picture. I’m still at ~10k words and there’s only 5 days left so I doubt I’d make the deadline. But I’m glad I tried.

Got a little sluggish – wasn’t really sure where I wanted my story to go which caused me to procrastinate on more writing, but I realized I’m trying to get to the meat of my story too quickly. I need slow down and develop my characters and that has given me a boost. I’ve officially broken the 10k mark – 10,516 words. I’m really far behind, but that’s ok. I’m just glad to be moving :)
I signed up for my account on the NaNaWriMo website and I’m on my way. I’m a little behind since I’m starting 6 days late, but I tell you in my first writing session I’m enjoying. I’m finding it hard to shut it down and move on to something else. So far I’ve got 1500 words. My story is way rough, but I’m enjoying it.
