I’m taking a deutsche class through the faculty of extension at U of A.
Couldn’t decide whether to do level one or two (seeing as I did already take a German class, albeit almost 6 years ago), but I’m busy on Wednesday nights, so… level one it is.
I really shouldn’t have taken this on – I have too much on my plate already (greedy amanda). But I’m enjoying it nonetheless.

Years and years ago, the first time I applied for university, my goal was to become a simultaneous interpreter for the UN. Then I proceeded to choose a different path entirely… sigh.
I speak French and Italian quite well.
I got by in Spanish when I travelled in Spain, but it has since disappeared into the Romance language melting pot in my head.
My German is so much scheisse, but I only took one course, like, four years ago.
I think to round it out I should learn a Slavic language and an Asian one, probably Russian and Mandarin.
It’s kind of hard in a town like this. There isn’t a huge choice of courses, and most of them are at inconvenient times/places.
