Being different, 2 years ago

is it really that difficult to stand out in a crowd? When I go out, do people look at me with silent curiosity, or disguised distain? Do I care; should I care? No matter what we do, people will always group us into some demeaning social category. Fuck it, says I. Of course I care what others think of me, everyone does, it is human nature, but somehow I still manage to pull out ahead. So yes, I will wear my thrift store clothes, I will have my hair short and sassy, I will have an odd affinity for eyebrows, and yes, I will be content with a good read.
