learn to speak italian

After reading the book Eat, Pray, Love I really have the urge to do this. The author spends months in Italy basically eating amazing food and learning the beautiful language of Italian. I feel like learning Italian would be an excellent opportunity to experience something new, and maybe then it would give me a good excuse to visit Italy in the future! I’m thinking of using Rosetta Stone…any advice from those who have tried it?
