5) Are You Amazed? - Bob Rice 4 months ago

Are you amazed I love to look upon your face?
So resplendent with amazing grace
Though at times you try to hide it in disgrace
I will always love you

Cause in your eyes I see a soul that longs to dance
I’m captivated by a single glance
And when you look my way, I don’t stand a chance
I will always love you

Like a mother to her child, like a husband to his bride
I want to hold you in my arms
Like a father to his son, I want to teach you—when I’m done
I want to keep you safe from harm
Like an eagle with its wings, teach you to soar, teach you to sing
So we can sail out to the dawn
You’ve got such beauty inside; I cannot help but wonder why…

Are you amazed I love to look upon your face?
So resplendent with amazing grace
Though at times you try to hide it in disgrace
I will always love you

Cause in your eyes I see a soul that longs to dance
I’m captivated by a single glance
And when you look my way, I don’t stand a chance
I will always love you

I want to sleep with you at night; you know I’m strong enough to fight
All the monsters ’neath your bed
Be your shelter in the storm, a place to go when you’re forlorn
Where you can rest your weary head

It’s a beautiful song. I wrote to him and asked where the inspiration came from, and he said a combination of love he feels for his children, his wife, and God.

It’s pretty much my favorite song right now.

4) Days of Elijah - Twila Paris 5 months ago

These are the days of Elijah,
Declaring the word of the Lord:
And these are the days of Your servant Moses,
Righteousness being restored.
And though these are days of great trial,
Of famine and darkness and sword,
Still, we are the voice in the desert crying
‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord!’

Steubenville and the amazing time I had. Especially Adoration…

3) Two Tickets to Paradise - Eddie Money 5 months ago

I’m gonna take you on a trip so far from here,
I’ve got two tickets in my pocket, now baby, we’re gonna disappear.
We’ve waited so long, waited so long.
We’ve waited so long, waited so long.

I’ve got two tickets to paradise,
Won’t you pack your bags, we’ll leave tonight,
I’ve got two tickets to paradise,
I’ve got two tickets to paradise.

When I was younger, I went to my first concert. Nearby, they have free local concerts and my dad really wanted to see the man that was playing down there. That man happened to be Eddie Money. It was crowded (well it was free) and I remember hearing this song playing. And I remember Eddie Money saying he loved where we lived and he liked going there. I love that guy, and he was good too.

2) Young at Heart - Frank Sinatra 5 months ago

Dont you know that its worth every treasure on earth
To be young at heart
For as rich as you are its much better by far
To be young at heart

And if you should survive to 105
Look at all youll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

It will conjure the memory of my grandmother. She’s 83 years old and on her 80th birthday, we had a big celebration for her at one of the local restaurants, at the time. Afterwards, we went to my aunt’s house where my grandmother was treated to a video where everyone wished my grandmother well for her age. At the end of the song, “Young at Heart” by Frank Sinatra played. Tears sprang to her eyes as everyone gave her a big kiss and hug. She’s a beautiful lady, and definitely youthful for her age. It’s a song that will always make me think of my grandmother.

1) Fire and Rain - James Taylor 5 months ago

I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I’d see you again

It reminds me of several things. A couple of years ago, when I found YouTube, I was obsessed with River Phoenix. My friend Alex had a dedication video to him, featuring this song. I wish he could still be alive, he had such potential. The next memory it conjures is my middle school health teacher. He looked like James Taylor and I would frequently sing the song in his class. Finally, it reminds me of looking at life from outside-the-body. You see good days, you see the bad. And when I feel nostalgic enough, I reflect on those days.

Fire and Rain is the most important song in my life.
