American English is soooooooo complicated. Even collage graduates sometime get confused by their native language….which make me wonder HOW THE HELL CAN I MASTER THIS LANGUAGE WHEN SOME NATIVE SPEAKERS CANNOT!?
There are a few rules in the grammar, AND there are a countless exceptions which are usually problematic for people.
hmmmmm interesting indeed.

I don’t have time to go to the weekend
ESL anymore, but my vocabulary and listening skill has been improving.
Thanks to my friends who help me to learn something new everyday.
I have been slacking off to practice my writing because of busyness…time to restart writing again!

I found a new ESL group that allow me to go on weekends.
They don’t limit the number of students, so anybody can join them.
That means no stupid test telling me I am too good to take the class.
It’s a really nice group. I think I will stick with them a while.

I missed already 6 ESL classes in the begging of the semester because of my work. I even didn’t have a chance to get a textbook from them….
I feel so bad about that I cannot go to the class, because the people in the class seemed pretty nice and funny.
I probably should look for another ESL class close to my office.
Mean while, I decided to read books while I take a train to go to work. I bring my electric dictionary with me, so I can check any new words from my readings. It’s has been fun.:)

Good and Bad.

I went to a free English program, and they had me take a test. My score was too high. They told me I couldn’t attend the program, but I will be able to participate in another ESL class. It sounded like they charge for the class. If so, I don’t really want to go there.

Free ESL class

I found a free ESL class in a local high school.
Yesterday I took a test, and they will let me know which class I will be on next month.
I was surprised there were more than 50 people registering the class. Of course there was a quite diversity!
It looked like really fun. I look forward to attending the class.

Someone who just met told me she had thought I was a native speaker. She looked so surprised when I told her that I grew up in Japan. She said my English was fabulous. That was so flattering!:) It boosted my confidence, although I know I still have a lot to go. I still make mistakes…
I think watching TV dramas is helping me a lot. They have a lot of good expressions I can use in everyday life.

I found a good web resource to learn English for free.
www.lingq.com
This service is good when you want to study listening, reading, and vocabulary.
Also they provide tutor services for correcting your writing and practicing your speaking, but you have to pay for these services.
I don’t pay for any tutor service, but the system they have is still useful and encouraging.
You can also learn other languages in this web beside English too.

South Park was an animation I could not understand for a long time, because the characters speak so fast.
That’s why I haven’t watched one a while, but I found out I totally understood what they talked in the show on the other day.
No wonder people love this show…so funny.
