buy my first house

i slept on a cot last night in my new house. i love my house! and my neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful!

this weekend my parents are going to get all the stuff from the lake that used to be in my apt. it’ll be like christmas b/c i’ve forgotten about half of the stuff that stored there. i’ve been holding off buying new stuff until i unpack all those boxes.

is it! i hope all goes well. we went by and they still haven’t laid sod in the yard… and there are a few other things that need fixed… we’ll see!

APRIL 12TH!!!!! i think i’m going to take a half day off of work so i don’t feel rushed

it was going to be on friday the 13th, but i’m kinda glad i’m not. even though i’m not superstitious in that way, the energy i was getting from people when i told them that it was my closing date was distracting. i’m glad that remedied itself!

dad and i are doing the walk-through with the builder and we’re gonna be nit-picky. i’m kinda nervous b/c i don’t like telling people what to do… but i’m really pumped b/c this is just one step closer to being a HOMEOWNER!!!

okay, i’m only going to put 15% down and just suck it up and pay the PMI (which is only $30 a month. not as bad as i thought!)... dad and i went to measure the house today. i’m totally psyched! the builder will be calling on wednesday to set up a walk through.

well, they finally gave me the good faith estimate… i’m 5k short of what i need to close with 20% down… but if i got w/ an 80-10-10 i cant use the teacher bond $... maybe it’s not meant to be with this house…

so i had to fax 30 pages of stuff to the mortgage guy…. the fax at work was being disagreeable… so i went to kinkos. i’m sorry, but $1 a page is out of control!

i’m going to try again with the machine at work tomorrow. wish me luck!

OMG it’s beautiful!

...well, infatuated. no, in love. there’s no wishy washy feeling about it (except the slight panic of leaving my parents’ house finally… i’m 24. i need to get over it!)
it’s just the right size… it has a covered from porch, a wood deck in the back (perfect sized backyard), a game room, a garden tub w/ shower in the master bath, it’s on a cul-de-sac in a nice neighborhood with sidewalks… i really really love it. mom and dad are going to go with me and the realtors to look at it again tomorrow
