DH put in the cabinet locks! 14 months ago

We found out the ones I like – with the magnetic key – won’t work on our cabinets. So we did the old-fashioned ones that you have to press down on while you open. But it is done!!! Andrew enjoys being in the kitchen with us.

Right now that includes getting rid of the high chair 15 months ago

We can’t get rid of the fruit flies! We will ban the highchair and make Andrew eat on the portable high chair that straps to a chair. It’ll be nice to have the space back.

Emergency! 15 months ago

Andrew fell down the two stairs to the landing on Friday. He started running before I reallized the gate was left open. So…we will be moving the gate and childproofing the kitchen.

Next goal - Master Bedroom! 16 months ago

Andrew tore apart our bookshelves in minutes while I was dressing today! First thing to grab – empty wine bottle from when we got engaged! Yes, we are not baby proofed at all upstairs. Must do immediately!

I might have Barry convinced that we 16 months ago

need a banister on the stairs in the basement/family room. This will allow me to put up a gate at the stairs.
I also need a gate in our bedroom!

After spending the weekend at my parents 17 months ago

I’m glad I’ve blocked off our kitchen. It is much more relaxing not to have to keep him out of the drawers, etc.

Wine rack empty 17 months ago

This is also a good way to declutter.

Andrew is walking now, 17 months ago

so this is becoming very urgent. He loves to go after cords. I will also have to empty the wine rake/wine glasses. So much to do!

Poor Andrew 18 months ago

Our kitchen was just too tempting for the baby and too much to baby proof, so we’ve gated it off. It is better for us because then the gate isn’t at the stairs, but at the kitchen door. He isn’t loving it, though. (all those applianced to pull himself up on, drawers to open and pinch his fingers on. It was fun for him)

Moved wine rack into dining room 19 months ago

We have a small wine cabinet that Andrew’s been trying to pull the bottles out of. Because it was in the kitchen, we were around it often. It is now in a remote corner in the dining room. We’ve had to rearrange a lot of things, but I’m happy with it. I’ve always wanted it there, but the extra flat surface was handy in the kitchen.
