I’ve been growing out my bangs too (because they were a bad idea in the first place). They touch my nose right now, so hopefully they’ll be out of the way in a few months for summer! I’m planning on getting my next haircut in mid-April, so it looks decent for prom.

My hair touches my collarbone! It’s awesome.
This is so boring, I had to hide my tape measure because I keep measuring my hair.
I didn’t get a haircut for an academic year, so I went from a pixy cut to a sortof shaggy…thing. It was about shoulder length, and had lots of split ends and whatnot, so I got a legitimate haircut, like, not me hacking at my hair with scissors when I’ve had too much caffeine. It’s a very subtle reverse bob, so I got a good two inches off the back and none off the front, and I’m all set to wait an obscene amount of time before I get another haircut.
I’ve recently fallen in love with hair that’s pretty long, down to the middle-back or so. That’s years and years of waiting though, and to be honest, I probably won’t want hair that long for the whole time it’ll take to grow out. However, until I abandon that dream I can still let it grow out and get a new hairstyle every 6-9 months, even if I’m supposed to get a trim every 2ish.
Can now officially pull my hair back into a single ponytail, although with tons of bobby pins. I think I’m going to stop growing it out soon…I’d like to get an actual haircut at that point to make it all nice.
Really, my hair is where I wanted it when I started this goal, which is about chin length. I’ve been DIY-ing pretty much every aspect of it, so the cut is pretty weird and I totally killed my hair with bleach. It looks good (now) but I’m still not sure exactly what to think of it. I sortof want to grow it out to my upper back, but all my past experience tells me that’s when my hair starts trending into a bad zone full of frizz. (That’s also when I get frustrated and cut it pixie-short…) And that’s like, 6 more months of waiting.
Right now I have very short hair, which I like, but I think I’m going to let it just grow out until I’m at a sort of bob. I’ve been trimming it a bit myself, trying to get it past the awkward stage. At the longest it might take three months to get where I’m picturing. So…I wait!
