find at least one thing each day that makes me happy

I am a dog lover. I have always had a dog or been around dogs. I know some people are cat people. My best friend is a cat person. I made fun of him for that fact and remained loyal to my favorite animal the dog even when I adopted my brother’s cat while he has moved away. At first me and the cat (Bob) kept to each other’s side of the apartment but over the year we have bonded and dog-nab-it that cat has earned my affection (despite being allergic to cats). Animals are one of the most amazing things on this planet. Unable to speak but able to communicate so clearly with us. Living alone can at times make you feel invisible going days without even touching/talking to another human, can be hard. But Bob always seems to know that I am there and that makes his day. Someone to pet him and feed him and play with. I guess I am a convert for now but I know one day I will have a dog again but not while I have a Bobcat in the apartment:)

I love lights. I love the night time city landscapes and I really like the night when people have Christmas Lights on! I prefer the ones that move or blink but a good colour scheme also pleases me. I like the lights because it shows a little something about people that I do not know. Like if they go all out or if they just put up a couple or none you kinda can make a story about the house and the people. Lights just make me Happy. My apartment is full of Christmas lights this year over 800!!! But it gets dark here around 4pm so the extra light inside really helps!

I have to admit I love popcorn from a popper not the microwave but the good stuff when you can add the perfect amount of salt and butter and a cold soda pop. Also it is a somewhat healthy snack which makes me feel a little less guilty indulging even though I probably added too much butter. Popcorn, Pop, Poppy, Popular, Population things that start with P O P seem to be awesome!

We have this thing at work where we are all someone’s secret buddy and drop stuff off for each other that are little things that are nice. Today my buddy sent me 2 packages of fudge one chocolate and mint the other chocolate and peanut butter. Honestly that just makes me smile now thinking about it:)

Random Acts of kindness make me happy. The other day a friend of mine from running club gave me a timer to help me with our running. I totally felt awesome about having it! It was really nice to know that someone thought of me. I need to return the favour and pay it forward.

wow how did I go so long without mentioning one of the biggest things that makes me happy. Music makes me happy. It always has when ever I have been too sad or mad to do anything I listen to music and boom all of a sudden I am groovin to the tunes and eventually it works the other emotions out of me. Now I am not a dancer but I can cut a rug when I am dancing in my bedroom. Music rocks! Listen to it any chance you get.

The act of growing plants makes me happy. The fact that I can actually grow something from a seed into a flower or plant is just fun. I have been running to my little flower pots every morning like it was christmas just to see if they had started to grow and now that I see litle buds coming out I cheer them on every morning and hope to see more. Being an Apartment Gardener actually makes me Happy.

Well it has been a struggle to fid some happiness lately. I think that one of the most important things that make me happy is blue sky and sunshine. I definitely know I am affected by the weather and lately it has been raining and that means lots of clouds and little blue sky. But when it comes back I will be happy again.

One smell that just takes me back to great memories and fun is the smell of BBQ! I love it!!! I love the food the typical banter the deck the whole scene I totally dig the BBQ Lifestyle. Unfortunately I live in an apartment and I’m not able to BBQ but the smell of other people’s grill is still good. Definitely makes me Happy!

Well if there is one thing that always works and in fact I think I may have a problem with is CHOCOLATE! Chocolate makes me happy…really happy… unable to focus on anything but the greatness of chocolate makes me extremely happy. Cheers to all the chocolate bingers out there! I am one of you!
