especially with the kid’s stuff, and now the Holidays. But he has a new way of letting know some “us” time is desired. A few months back he clipped a “Sally Forth” comic strip where Sally & Ted are discussing the need for more time together. When msr. faucon wants my attention, he takes the strip off the fridge and puts it in a place where he knows I’ll see it. It usually works!

Throughout all the ordeal with my family, my husband has been totally awesome. Supportive, picking up the slack when I wasn’t home (even recycling!), fixing stuff around my parents’ house that needed fixing. No complaints, just support. Deep down I knew he had it in him, but what a blessing he has been.
One wonderful thing that has come out of caring for my parents is how much I love my own family.
We get away so seldom, but usually to manage to do it around our anniversary. It was wonderful to just take off, he and I, and really communicate and be with each other, with no distractions and no place we really needed to be. It was one of those things that you don’t know how much you’ve missed until you see what actually can be by doing it (if that makes any sense). I want to have these uninterrupted times with him a lot more often.
