Sing

My daughter and I got to sing with our church’s choir in a wonderful candlelight service Chrismas Eve. After all the craziness it was a blessing to be in such a beautiful setting, singing such challenging but lovely music. Made it much easier to return to that other world I’d been living in …

My daughter and I, fully vested in red robes and cassock (me), officially sang in our church choir this morning! She thought it was “awesome – a little bit”, and aside from coughing a bit and eventually losing my voice :-o , I had a great time. And my husband was up in the balcony running the soundboard, so the whole gang was there. Fun!

My daughter and I sang for the first time as official part-time members yesterday in our church’s choir. This is an amazing group, with classically-trained and gifted singers, so it was a little intimidating. We’ll be singing with them once a month for a year, and then become full-time members.

Challenging and a bit scary, as I’m not a trained singer; I just like to sing. But it’ll be a great learning experience – and an adventure!

Don’t know if it’s possible, but I love singing along with the recordings. It just makes me good. Maybe just in the shower … !

The kid has decided she would rather play soccer right now instead of (immediately) joining our church’s choir. So this may be postponed until later this fall, or next year.

SOMEDAY!!

We have a superlative music program at church, and I promised myself when our daughter was old enough to be a part of the choir, I would join, too. Well, it looks like she’s going to get to join next year … so they’ll be getting 2 for the price of 1! Little do they suspect … ;-)
