Nature Walk

I went on a nature walk with my mom this evening and it helped me identify a few more plants and flowers around the neighborhood :]
this picture above is a “Cycas revoluta (Sago Cycad), is a cycad native to southern Japan. Though often known by the common name of King Sago Palm, or just Sago Palm, it is not a palm at all, but a type of gymnosperm.”

I took this picture in my grandmothers yard. She is very wise when it comes to flowers and plants. She told me it was an Amaryllis but after lookin it up i found out that
“Amaryllis is a monotypic (only one species) genus of plant. The single species, Amaryllis belladonna, is a native of South Africa. It is often confused with the Hippeastrum, “
so these flowers are actually Hippeastrum

this plant is often mistaken for Cannabis salvia

they aren’t poisonous so play with one next time :]
The caterpillars are hairy with areas of blue, white, black and orange. he moths almost exclusively live on trees, particularly cherries and apple..
