learn to draw

so, I’ve always wanted to be able to draw. The other day I was out walking in the city and saw a group of kids-must have been an art class-with their collapsable chairs and pads of paper. I smiled and wished I had at least taken art in high school but my parents thought that it was a waste of time so I didn’t. When I was teaching and trying to explain something on the board, I’d attempt to draw it; the students patiently waited for my masterpiece of squiggles and lines to be done and when it was they just looked at me quizzically: what is that? Is it a monster? No, it’s suppose to be beaver. I tried using that book: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. It’s a great book and I made a bit of progress but I gave up right where she says not to. I think I need a teacher, or I’ll just give up after looking at my incomprehensible squiggles.
