buy a hybrid

...and now they’re too expensive. Again. Sigh.

at the Toyota Prius! A friend of mine just bought one and it’s so pretty! My old clunker is still, well…clunking along. Hopefully I can track down a good deal on a used one in the next few months.

But not anytime soon. They’re just too damn expensive. Hopefully one day all cars will be some form of hybrid or other.

I believe I’ve (finally) settled on a RAV4. I love the new 2006 line – it’s so much roomier – but have found several good used ones that I’ll most likely choose from.

from “buy a new car, or move where I don’t need a car” to “buy a hybrid”. Ideally I would love to move to NYC, wherein a car is totally useless, but after a year of intermittantly trying very hard to make it happen, I just don’t think it’s in the cards.

So if I have to be stuck out here in middle-of-nowhere-land, commuting approx 2 hours everyday, I think I need a hybrid. I need one that will get me through Ohio winters though—hopefully more SUV type vehicles will come out soon. And I will win the lottery and be able to afford them…

The moving thing isn’t going to happen, at least not now. I applied to a job in NYC, and hoped to have a pretty good lead on it, but…no. Very sad. Now no leads, and not brave enough to move to The Big Bad NYC without a job, I need a new car.

So what do you all think about yellow cars? Sporty but flirty, or just stupid looking? I found a used Jeep Cherokee that has everything I want, namely 4WD to make it through these crap-tastic winters. And it’s yellow. Being a black car kind of gal, I don’t know how I feel about this…
