Been doing okay at this, but it’s hard to cut out the profane phrases that have become second nature as replies. “Bitch, please” comes to mind.
One thing that bothers me is how I notice how often other people swear and it irks me, as if I’m better than them somehow or something. Crazy.

The first word I ever said as a baby was a curse word. My mother had the mouth of a sailor and I imagine she must have cursed so much that saying typical words like “momma” or “daddy” didn’t come soon enough.
So far I’ve been good with cutting out profanities when interjecting though I noticed that a split second after saying something non-offensive, my mind will backtrack and I’ll end up cursing as a delayed reaction. On a larger scale, it’s the little words that creep into my sentences without me even knowing.
Hopefully I can watch what I say even more carefully and drop this bad habit. For better or worse, people tend to judge you harshly when you throw profanities around left and right.
