Had my last Diet Coke today (with lime!). Now it’s just not going back to drinking it…

Two more days…oh man. Temping has been really bad for this. I’m working at a hotel this week, so it’s free food and free pop. I’m going to go without it today. I’m getting together with a friend of mine tomorrow so that’ll be my last hurrah with diet coke.
This has been really up and down for me lately. I don’t really crave diet pop or anything, but I still have it. Only a can a day, and I’m trying to replace it with water. There’s not a lot left here, but it was a lot easier to do this in college when I was constantly broke.
Still doing okay with this. My consumption is waaaaay down since I started. I’ve had a little more this week than normal because of finals, but I was expecting that. I don’t drink coffee, so I hagve to get some caffeine to stay awake somehow. Interestingly, I’ve started drinking Kool-Aid a lot since I’ve cut back on diet pop. I haven’t been gaining weight from the sugar, fortunately, as I’ve been eating vegetarian and not as much, and riding my bike. Have to find some way to get some sugar, I guess.
Overall, I’ve been doing well with this. I have a pop maybe once a week. My new challenge is going to be keeping that up when I go home. We always have pop there, and I’m pretty sure I bought a 24 case of Diet Coke over spring break that nobody has drank.
So the last two days have been sort of bad with this. I had a Diet Coke with lunch today, and a whole bunch at a restaurant after a concert yesterday. I didn’t really enjoy it today, but yesterday’s was pretty good. Overall, my intake has been cut drastically, and I still have some time to completely quit (other than the previously posted occasional treat).
I had the very last can of diet pop that I’ll ever buy today. Diet ginger ale isn’t really that great, especially compared to regular ginger ale. Either way, it was alright.
I took a caffeine pill this morning. I bought some back at finals last quarter so I could write some papers, and haven’t really used them since. Man, did it perk me up. I don’t use them often (Saved by the Bell taught me a good lesson), but it was much more effective than Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi ever was.
Alright, so I had a Diet Pepsi today. I didn’t really need it, but I said to myself, “Hey, you just got a job, get yourself something pretty.” So I did. (Also, it came with my lunch combo.)
It was enjoyable and satisfying. I use satisfying in the best way I can. After it was done, I didn’t want more. I had my pop, and I was done. I haven’t wanted any more all day. It didn’t fulfill a need in me saying, “I need diet pop! Now!” It just was good.
I don’t plan on making it a regular habit, but I think it’s tolerable to have every once in a while.
One full week down, going good. I did have some Coke yesterday, but it was as a mixer, so I think it doesn’t count. My friend gave me the drink that way, and you can’t turn down alcohol like that. It wasn’t much, and I wasn’t drinking it for the pop, I was drinking it for the rum.
I wasn’t even tempted to get a pop at Jimmy John’s today. I love a sandwich and pop, but I just got a cup for water. Not bad at all.
