It takes 6 weeks to form a habbit so this will stay up till then. I just order the discover bible guides so hopefully the feedback from those will help to re-establish this habit. I am also making it part of a behavor mod plan where i get points for doing certain chores and then can use the points to get rewards :)

I bought a Day by Day Kid’s Bible at the end of May. It’s divided into daily readings (marked by a date but no weekday) that are about 1-2 pages long. It is written at second grade level.
It is a Paraphrase rather than a translation. Those who compiled it consider it to be a bridge between full text and storybooks. It includes Psalms, Proverbs, Paul’s letters, the gospels, and Revelation. In fact, about the only thing left out is the genealogies :)
The hope is that kids ages 7-10 will be able to read the text for each day in about 7 minutes. Admittedly, I am much older than this (26 to be exact) However, I am dyslexic and write using dictation software. So, I felt this bible was a good place to start.
When I bought it, I chose to start reading from the beginning (January 1st). Today, I will read the text marked March 20th. It is so cool to be able to see my progress right on the pages.
