just a thought we could read books and disscuss them in a yahoo group or something

I am sighted, but I have a visual processing problem. It’s kind of like being dyslexic. Since I also have CP, I am on state disability stuff. (I Plan to get off once i finish school but that’s a different story) Because I’m not blind, I have had to teach myself braille and since I am on a fixed income getting materials was hard at first. So, I thought I would share what I’ve found.
There are free lessons at http://www.brailleschool.com/.you’ll need a peg board or something to use with them. I used plastic easter eggs at first then worked down to a generic Light Bright board (with straight lines).
The braille bookstore has books in Grade 1 and 2 with text on the opposite page.
This is great for checking to see if one is reading correctly.E-bay has a lot of childern’s books that have been transcribed with braille as well as some other reasonably priced learning aides.
Kernel books from NFB are available to the public(sighted or otherwise) for free as long as there supplies last. Please don’t take more than you can use. Kernel books
