Attended a workshop with a local informal writing group. They’d put together a series of questions to pose, and we wandered around Brownville, NE answering them in our journals. Ended up being a good day—the depth wasn’t there, but as the day wore on, the rhythm returned. And that’s the satisfying part for me, or it has been. Maybe there’s some therapy there for me after all? Other than whining that is.

Since I did laundry this morning, that was an excellent opportunity to add to my journal, and I used it. Life is so much better when I spend a few minutes or twenty and keep a running diatribe on what’s going through my head. Things get missed, feelings mostly, and ideas. I wish I could document everything… not possible, I know. Anyway, it feels better.
I can stay up a little later and chat, read, or write a short journal entry as I’m about to hit the pillow.
I can read the paper or write something in my journal.
I can drink another cup of coffee or write in the journal.
I can stress over work in my head or write it down.
I think I know which options work for me. WRITE IT.
