a distinction for my powerpoint exam today. so far all my exams i have passed with distinction.
currently i am still working on my shorthand (stress!) and working on typing speed. i am also studying Access at the moment, which shall prove interesting when its exam time as this is the first of my subjects that is brand new to me. but i am getting there and its proving quite interesting. so if i can pass this with distinction i shall be super proud. it all starts to get harder now, when all the new stuff as well as the expert modules and accounting comes along.
i know shorthand is gonna be a toughy for me too. so many different rules and blends and outlines to learn. i am only halfway confident in my shorthand, no way ready to do a exam. i have taken to writing my daily food journal in short hand, and do some table orders in shorthand when its quiet and small tables, but thats when i remember.
ive also been doing note taking for disciplinarys for my boss recently. have done 2 so far. and am slowly incorporating some shorthand outlines in my notes so i can take notes quicker. but i am not fast enough nor confident enough and scarred will make a mess of it and then cant read it and make sense of it when i have to ultimately type them up for my boss. but i will work on it. this is the whole point of shorthand to be able to take quick notes. and it will esp help with that, as it kills my hand to write in long hand, esp for an hour and you have to make sure u get all the correct info. as its pretty important information. the last disciplinary i sat in, my boss fired the guy. i like sitting in on them tho, as my boss lets me review the evidence and paperwork before hand, so im famililiar with what the offences are, and then when he takes breaks during and once the meeting is over he asks for my opionion on what he thinks i should do regarding the outcome of the disciplinary.
this is definately something i will be adding to my CV. also i have sent my CV to one of my course advisors today, who wants to have a look at it to see how we can fix it and make it better. my college has a good reputation and is also part of a recruitment agency in london, so they tend to put students through to job interviews and help find jobs, so hes gonna look at it, and we are gonna have a meeting next week to see what we can change, and maybe start unofficially job hunting. or at least see whats out there.

year and i need to get on top of my studies in a big way. the sooner i get them finished the sooner, i can get a better job and get out of my current job.
my studies is very flexible, i choose when i want to go to classes and how often in the week. currently i always go twice a week, tho i could go more if i wanted when i had mornings off from work, however i dont want to waste money on travel when its not necessary. i can do 3/4s of what im currently learning at home, the rest i can do at college twice a week. however i have sometimes been lazy in the past or dont make the best use of my time at home or at college. so now i need to focus on this and try and speed things up a bit and use my time wisely.
really want to get this done. still gonna take a while but i need to be on top of this, the longer i am in college studying, the longer it costs me financially as well keeps me from being able to find something better for myself.
so.. this needs to become much more of a priority now.

is how tired i was today since working all day yesterday (sun)from 1130am to 930pm at work, and then having to be up early and at college studying…
i found myself at about 3pm in the afternoon, staring at my pc screen, trying to absorb what i was learning… but my eyelids started drooping and i ended up falling asleep while sitting perfectly upright… i was sort of 70% asleep, 30% aware i should not be sleeping… but i think i sat like that for about 5 mins… till i sense my tutor… comming towards me… and i opened my eyes and started laughing at her, and she was laughing too and asked if i was ok… and did i want coffee… lol… i just laughed some more and said no… im ok… just tired…
was funny can imagine how silly i looked… just sat up right… eyes closed not moving… fast asleep… but was funny… still laugh when i think about it

wait till my studies are over… and then i can start lookign for a new job. still got a long way to go tho.
need to stop slacking, the less i slack the more i get done, the better i learn, the quicker i pass studies, the quicker i can look for a new job, get the job and resign from my current job from hell.
i need to think about the big picture when i feel like not studying/slacking. the sooner i do, the sooner i can make changes in my life. things will get better.

passed my business communication exam with distinction. my tutor, told me i should be proud cos not many pass that exam with distinction.
i did my typing accuracy exam last week. and i know i passed but not enough for a distinction but it was close. to get a distinction you have to only make 5 mistakes for accuracy and i made 7.
i am going to ask if can do a retest sometime, when i get my typing accuracy exam result. its the only exam so far, that i havent got a distinction. and i am annoyed. one thing i have discovered is that i am a perfectionist when it comes to exams, i hate handing in a test exam paper where i dont feel i did well. i like to hand in my work knowing i did my best and its correct. so far its only been the typing accuracy exam where i knew i didnt get a distinction and i knew it would be a hard thing for me. cos all other exams are mental and theory and you can prepare for that, but typing, yes you can practice and practice, but its so easy to hit a wrong key, to make a mistake, for your fingers to not wanna work, to hit the capslock button… and bam, loads of errors. its not fully in your control. touch typing, not looking at screen. i know i did well with 7 errors, but i want to see if i can do a retest and get it down to 5 and get a distinction.
currently i am studing powerpoint, still working on shorthand which is taking forever and i will be now working on typing speed development and speed drills. currenty my speed is 45-50wpm but i make too many errors. so i need to slow it down make less errors and redevelop and improve speed. when i wrote my accuracy exam i slowed the speed down a bit so as not to make errors.
