I’m routinely complimented on my dancing, and I do it nearly everywhere. I sitll can’t do much that’s all that structured, but I’m constantly learning, and this is now a part of my life.

Just lately, I’ve been unable to resist moving to musics. It’s wonderful fun to bob and tap at seated-type events, and the performers tend to enjoy it.
Obviously I’ve danced spontaneously for at least a year, but now It;s getting COMPULSIVE!
- Don’t wear cotton
- Take a toothbrush
- Have a gimmick (conversation piece), or dress differently to everyone else
- Copy good dancers, they’ll start dancing with you and that makes it still easier
- Take water and chocolate/sugar, or offer to refill friends’ bottles for them
I went out raving for the first time in my life. Me & my brother were the first to dance, or at least I think so, and I was still going strong at the end! I learnt a lot by imitation: whenever I saw someone good, I’d try to copy their movement style and moves. I learnt some more by innovation, doing things that feel right, or dancing like a gentleman/bear/martial artist/whatever.
I designed us some lovely costumes (which my brother then made) with phantom-of-the-opera masks, and black streamers coming from ends of the arms. We did some morris dancing in the middle of the dance floor, which looked a bit surreal against a background of strobe lights and psychodelic trance.

It looks lovely, I’m going to start doing this seriously next week. I met a girl on the bus last ngiht… she has a dance exam today. She urged me strongly to join a dance class.
I had a fantastic time dancing today/night: a friend organised an indoor mini-festival and I danced loads (though I went home for an hour or two to sleep after lunch).
The best bits were when me and my brother led people in group-dances, a spontaneous bout of almost-ceidligh-dancing which collapsed after a while (these were mostly mosher-y teens, after all), and at the end when I stripped half naked and jumped around like a spaz. Through the night I picked up a number of little moves and things from friends.
Odd things: my brother got up on stage and danced with his socks on his ears when I wasn’t there, and one of my bisexual (male) friends seemed to be coming on to me after I took my shirt off.
Edit: at the end someone in one of the bands said I was the “best person at the gig”... this is quite a complement, considering the multitude fo talented performers. He seemed to be impressed by me undressing.
My brother gave a short critique of how I dance: I jump around too much and need to seem more controlled.
I went to a wedding with a ceidligh tonight and danced proper dances with steps for the first time ever.
A lot of it was confusing, and my attempts to strip one willow in particular disasterous, but otherwise I had a few tasty moves going on. It was dead funksome, and had a buzzing inclusive feel.
I encouraged my girlfriend to show me some Salsa steps she read on the internet or something. I kept messing them up. I can do spontaneous dance, but not this structured stuff!
Anyway, I’m going to practice a bit, and then we’ll try some more complex ones. It’s really nice doing it with her, so there’s an extra incentive.
I danced a lot at a party last weekend. Someone said I dance well. Whoohoo!
I’d like to dance with my girlfriend. Maybe I should just grab her and start moving.
