I’m trying a non medicated nasal spray as well as eye cream at the moment. Hopefully attacking the problem from the inside and out will help…

They are definitely looking better, but it’s hard for me to tell the difference, I’m not very observant. I’m remembering the eye cream most nights, and I think I can tell the bags get worse when I don’t use it for a few days. I wish I had taken photos before I started on this goal.
I’m wondering about something, don’t know if anyone else with this goal can help. They say the skin on the eyelids is very delicate, you shouldn’t rub it etc. But when my bags are really puffy, I kind of massage from the outside to the inside and seem to be able to drain a lot of the fluid. This certainly makes me look and feel better, but I’m not sure what is the best idea for the long term.
I haven’t really been doing much about this goal. I did some research on the net and realised there is not much point at all to vacuuming, unless you have a certain type of vacuum cleaner. We are not sure how much longer we are staying in Japan, it depends on how my boyfriend’s job interview in December goes. But if he gets it we will be staying at least another 18 months, so I one of the first things we will get is a new vacuum cleaner (ours is so cheap and crappy, let alone useless against dust mites!)
But I did go to the doctor about my hayfever, and got a nasal spray. After using it for about a week my bags have gone done quite a bit, so I hope they stay that way. I’d rather do this without spraying steroids in my nose, but for now I’ll take all the help I can get! I’ve been drinking a lot of water as part of my weight loss goal, so that may be contributing as well. Going home for Christmas, so will look for allergy free bedding while I am there.
I inherited all of my physical characteristics from my dad, and I’ve always had the bags. I look like a hard partier in photos when I was 3 months old. So I don’t think getting rid of them completely is going to be possible, but hopefully I can keep them to a minimum and stop them getting as bad as my dad’s are as he gets older. If I was given a wish and could change one thing about myself, the bags would be it.
I’m drinking a lot of water and eating healthier food as part of my weight loss goal, so hopefully getting rid of toxins will also help with this. And I guess I should make a commitment to vaccuum every week to help keep the dust mites at bay. I think my sinuses and the bags under my eyes are connected, so maybe steam inhalations would help. And I bought an eye cream and have been using it nightly. A friend commented last night that my bags are better than usual, but they do get better and worse anyway depending on my environment, so we will see if they stay this way.
