a new strategy  — 6 months ago

I have daily minimum which is making beds, throwing the garbage and putting everything in it’s place
then I every day do some chores for 15 minutes and that’s it
the appartment looks ok and it’s not at all hard:))

Step by step,I’m getting closer…and just feel great about it!!!
The challenge really stimulates me.I have better strategy concerning declutering now-instead of trying to be forceful I see where my family meets difficulty in dumping sth and just try showing them in relaxed manner that letting go of stuff can be actually fun and refreshing, liberating…

losing it...  — 1 year ago

can’t find the time.procrastination is taking over.I should do something NOW!

family struggle:(  — 1 year ago

I’m doing my best to transform my home in neat and nice place to live.Yet,it just don’t seem to work.My parents say I’m becoming too pushy. We fight all the time.I didn’t mean to be rude,I just want to have different home.I’m sick and tired of all that clutter,of feeling ashamed when guests are coming in our house.Unfortunately neither my parents, nor I have proper organising habits. Our home is such a mess sometimes. My room is neat, yet I get really angry when my parents put their clothes carelessly on the furniture.Gosh! Why don’t you put it in the wardrobe!I’m tired of all this.In the and they are adults,I can’t teach them how to be organised! They are supposed to be!I’ve recently read some fung shui stuff and get really inspired to declutter my home and to feel it with love and positive vibes. However,it’s more difficult than it sounds.Almost every time we talk about decluterring we have argument.Maybe I’m acting too angrily, but I just want to finish that goal, not only to have it in my 43things list.I guess I should change my approach.Any ideas are welcomed:)

starting again  — 2 years ago

Obviously everybody can clean and cut clutter once in a while, but how to stay decluterred? How to turn house cleaning in a habit? That’s a hard one.I’m starting my challenge again. This time a have a strategy and a have devided the goal”keep a clean and well organized home” into some little subgoals which are completely achievable and within my reach. This is my method(I took it from organisedhome.com Check it,it’s full of usefull tips) :

“The Penicillin method, devised by online declutterer Ellen in MN, uses a Petri dish metaphor to get a grip on clutter. Imagine a Petri dish full of fuzzy brown mold spores. A researcher begins to apply small drops of penicillin to the dish. Each little drop clears a small circular area; soon, drop upon drop, the entire dish is cleared of the distasteful intruder.
So, too, with the Penicillin method of decluttering. Today, the declutterer clears the kitchen table. From this point, no matter how bad the clutter becomes elsewhere, the kitchen table is inoculated with Penicillin. Daily clutter checks make sure no clutter is permitted to return.
Next declutter session, the declutterer attacks the top of the buffet. Thinking “Penicillin!”, that clear space joins the kitchen table. Soon, the cleared areas link up, banishing clutter from the entire house.
By devoting declutter energies to retaining the Penicillin effect of each declutter session, the Penicillin method focuses the declutterer on prevention. The method is useful, creative, an works well to bring an entire house under control.”
Cool,huh?

this is my action plan:)  — 2 years ago

Every day:
*clean with the vacuum cleaner my room and the drawing room
*tidy my room
*clean one kitchen cupboard a day
Every Sunday:
*clean a small area of the bathroom
That’s for now.I’ll do my best to stick to it:)
