All I did was make a special effort to go swimming and not give up cycling in the daytime when the summer sun began to scorch. The weather helped a lot this year.

It has been a comfortable 103˚F(39.5˚C) here in Austin for about two weeks and unrelentingly sunny for all of August (we had more rain than usual before that, which was very nice). I am in direct sunlight everday for at least an hour (while riding my bike) but usually way more than that (gardening, yardwork, dogwalks, swimming). I will never be tan but this was more about mood enhancement and the health benefits of sunlight. It will be autumn soon (yes, we have that season in Texas) and I will be outside all day every day; maybe I will re-list this in winter but as for now, I am sooo done.
I have gone swimming at least 15 times this summer and I have got some sun each time. I haven’t got any kind of tan so far but no burn either.
