I would need to get ready by getting all my other chores, duties and responsibilites out of the way first. I don’t know all of what that might mean but off the top of my head:
- turn in resume to proper places for summer employment so as not to be a jerk to myself and my family
- finish the chicken run/coop and clip their wings so that my delicately conditioned wife can more conveniently mother them while I’m away
- that includes going to get T-posts immediately after this post from the salvage place
- calling the Texas Dept of Parks and Wild to check potential tent sites
- gather up my gear

Finally found a friend willing to strap a 60 lb pack to his back and follow me around Texas’ premeire canyon. It was the definition of AWESOME.

It’s beautiful (I hear) and it’s the only part of the Guadalupes I haven’t been too. I’ll have to schedule with Gracie and/or get a small group together to share gas/expenses. Do-able though.
