it was based on the true life-story of an Indian Punjabi girl married to a NRIndian.She was subjected to hair-raising domestic violence.Never for a moment,she had peace of mind with her husband.She had two kids.
She was charged for murdering her husband.Later on,her case was accepted in appeal.
She won the case.This landmark case called REGINA N AHLUWALIA gave a new dimension to Domestic violence cases in the eye of legal system…and redefined PROVOCATION in the reference.
This lady was awarded for bravery by Mrs.Blair recently.

The film was very subdued.It kick-started in slow momentum.It didn’t touch my heart,I don’ know why…...while,i too was subjected to violence in my married life.
I have all good words for Nandita Das.She is very talented.
The direction,by Jag Mundhra,is good.
This boy Naveen Andrews acted very well.I hated his sight on the screen.

I only wish that Aishwarya would soon learn to act.This was such powerful character,but,she has yet to skin herself off to be fitted in the character.She misfired in UMRAO JAN…and here too.

I thought of Smita Patil for this role….after so amny years,and remembered her powerful perforance in BHOOMIKA.

i was not much into,but,it was living life in hours and passing the the fun.just my physical presence.I was not into fun part,it was rather living life at-hourly-basis.
